1949 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Hooper Saloon For Sale

1949 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Hooper Saloon For Sale
1949 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith Hooper Saloon For Sale This beautiful Hooper bodied Saloon is a one off car with a very interesting history. In 1948 the cheif designer for Hooper an Osmond Rivers, was commissioned by Hooper to design a “new look” to get away from the classic designs which had continued after World War II. He produced seven bodies. One of which was shown at Earl’s Court Motorshow in 1948. Fearing a reaction the car would not be as well recived because it was as he called it “rotund” Hooper asked him to design a car that was more “razor edged”. The result was design number 8234 on Job no. 9568 on chassis number WGC16. No other body was made just like it. It was displayed to great acclaim as a primary car at the 1949 Earl’s Court Motorshow. A one off prototype that influenced many designs to come. The car is documented with hundreds of pages of Hooper factory correspondence prior and post delivery. Also pages of Factory build sheets documenting all of this cars very unique features. Finished in its original factory color of Maroon with gray connelly leather piped in maroon with maroon wool carpeting. Also the chrome wheel discs are factory correct as well. The car was completely disassembled and set for restoration in 1983. All mechanical restoration was handled by R.K. Wilson & Co., the interior restoration was handled by Wilkinson and Sharp, and the body, paint and chassis work was hanled by D&D Classic Auto Restorations. The car was finished early in 1985. The car was shown at the AACA national meet and took first in class. The car was then shown at the Rolls Royce Eastern national meet in 1985,1986 and again in 1989 and was a National Award winner all three times. At the time the restoration was completed the car had 40,500 original miles. The car has travelled just some 2000 miles since in 23 years. Being carefully maintained and preseved. A lovely patina has settled in the cars interior that only adds to its brilliant character. The car drives exactly as it did the day it left the factory. Everything functions as it should, everything. This car is documented from new until today with all factory sheets, correspondences, owner history, a letter from Osmond Rivers detailing how this car came to be, and receipts of restoration and preservation. This car is a storied piece of Rolls-Royce and Hooper history. 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona For Sale

1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona For Sale
1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona For Sale The Ferrari 365 GTB/4, better known by the unofficial name Ferrari Daytona, is a Gran Turismo automobile produced from 1968 to 1973. It was first introduced to the public at the Paris Auto Salon in 1968 and replaced the 275 GTB/4 but, although it was also a Pininfarina design (by Leonardo Fioravanti), the Daytona was radically different. Its sharp-edged styling resembled a Lamborghini more than a traditional Pininfarina Ferrari. The Daytona name commemorates Ferrari’s triple success in the February 1967 24 Hours of Daytona with the 330P4. While it was initially used as a pre-production internal denomination, Ferrari still insists that this was never the model’s official name and should not be applied to it. Unlike Lamborghini’s new Miura, the Daytona was a traditional front-engined, rear-drive car. Today, the car represents the last of the great front engine Ferrari GTs. This car was restored in 2002, with Grand Touring Classic handling the mechanicals. It comes with records showing it was originally sold to Bill Harrah in Reno, NV. It comes out of a very prestigous collection of Ferrari’s. It comes with a full tool roll, books and records. Only 22,000 miles from new. A wonderful addition to any collection.
