1957 Buick Special Convertible (Sold)	1957 Buick Special Convertible (Sold) 1957 Buick Special Convertible (Sold) In 1957 all Buick models were ambitiously restyled and fiited with a larger, more powerful engine. The series 40â€™s were wider and lower with a bright sweepspear. All model 46C convertibles were trimmed in a two tone style and included a drivers side mirror. The new engine was a 364 CID V8 rated at 250hp and 380 lbs of torque. Considered a 6 passenger convertible coupe, only 8,505 were built and sold at a cost of $2,987 when new. This particular example is beautifully restored and well equipped with the very rare option of factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, power convertible top, variable pitch dynaflow transmission, full wheel covers, dual exhaust, and is finished in Seminole Red and white with a white top and red/white interior. This car was the pinnacle of Buickâ€™s high style and luxury. Cosmetically, it is very difficult to tell this car apart from an original with its correct badges, banjo steering wheel, square weave carpets, well-fitted cloth top, side curtains and boot cover. Genuine Porsche emblems complete the look, but it runs and drives like a dependable, modern, comfortable car with front disc brakes and even cold air conditioning for those warmer days. The 65hp Flat 4 engine is outfitted with dual carburetors and the suspension parts are all new. The instrument cluster includes a speedometer with trip odometer, tachometer, fuel, oil temperature gauge and a host of other details that are done just right.
