This particular Beck 550 is a brand new car, with final assembly and special performance options installed by Randy Beck, Chuck's son. Finished in the signature Beck color of Porsche Silver-Blue with Red leather, and optional Porsche badging, it takes an astute observer to find any difference between this car and an $800,000 original.
Rather than the stock 100 horsepower engine, this car is fitted with a 2.3 liter, 185 Horsepower engine mated to a close-ratio gearbox and a 3.88:1 final drive ratio. Additionally, it is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, and Randy Beck specified suspension set up to handle like it is on rails.
With a substantial and rock solid tube frame chassis as an original 550, and just 1250 lbs soaking wet, driving this car is as close to automotive nirvana as us mere mortals could hope to get!
