Consignment # 5578
1969 Jaguar E Type
Final Bid: $ 26,400.00 - Monterey 2004
Although there were many changes to the E-Type over is first seven years of production, nothing compares to the introduction of the Series II.

Not that the changes were all Jaguar’s ideas, the US Federal Regulations played a part in it. Little did they know they were doing Jaguar a favor. Their call for change brought about revised lighting and new Stromberg carburetors. On the outside they added larger full width bumpers to match standards for low speed impact and they increased the radiator rear intake. Some things they new to leave well enough alone though. Little was done to the 4.2 liter engine. They did however add a twenty-five percent higher capacity water pump to work with the revised radiator rear intake. Chassis was increased in size, Girling brakes were added and the introduction of relining seats, which are now standard, were also new additions. With all the new changes, Series II purchasers got a much more reliable, comfortable, highly functional vehicle. It was merely an improvement on a car that already had a stellar reputation.

This E-type is very original with never a restoration but rather a repaint and excellent upkeep on the interior. It is finished in red with black interior and chrome wire wheels. Although never restored, this vehicle has much to offer. It still maintains that solid feel that an original vehicle holds when it hasn’t been messed with. Being recently owned by an experienced collector, the vehicle comes with maintenance and service handbooks, and original operation manual as well. It has been meticulously maintained and detailed. The original feel cannot be duplicated and any Jaguar enthusiast would be happy to have such a good looker and driver.
