1967 Ferrari 330 GTS
Final Bid: $ 260,000.00 - Scottsdale 2004
Ferrari introduced the 330 GTS at the Paris Salon in 1966. This new auto featured a 4 Liter twin-cam V12 engine. This car featured a five-speed transaxle with an enclosed torque tube drive shaft. The frontal treatment, with its shallow oval grille, was reminiscent of the 500 Superfast, while the tail replicated that of the 275 GTS model. This 330 GTS is fitted with the Borrani wire wheels.
The 330 was the first model to use the two-point mounting on both engine and transaxle with the solid torque tube connection. This proved to be a success in eliminating balancing and alignment problems. The steel bodies, which have aluminum bonnets and boot lids, where designed and built by Pininfarina. The 330’s have triple louvers on the front wing sides and chrome plated quarter bumpers are provided all round, those at the rear being fitted with rubber-faced overriders. The convertible roof of the GTS is made of heavy canvas, with a rectangular clear Perspex panel in the rear, on a folding steel frame. This car is 26th of 100 330 GTS built. It left the factory 3/24/1967 and has only 4 previous owners. This Spider has won many awards including:
2003 Concorso Arizona – Best in Class; Outstanding Open Car, Ferrari Club of America Concours:
1998 Platinum – 1st place tie
1996 Gold – 2nd place
1995 Silver – 3rd place
1997 Meadow Brook Hall “Blue Ribbon” First Place Overall – Sergio Pininfarina, chief Judge
6 first place awards 1985-2000 including: Ferrari Nationals, Numerous other Concours awards
This vehicle comes complete with service records dating back to the early 1980’s. It is an Original Car – original colors, original interior, all tools and books. The mileage is believed to be accurate at 54,xxx miles. Complete with Factory Build Sheets. This car has been on the cover of Forza Magazine in 1997. This car recently completed the Copperstate 1000 Rally and the Gauthier Rally.
