1975 JAGUAR XJ6C CUSTOM COUPE
SOLD FOR $23,760
Color: SILVER
Transmission: AUTO
Cylinders: V8
Engine Size: 383
Horsepower: 450
This rare 1975 Jaguar coupe, with its 383 John Lingenfelter 450 horsepower V8 was owned by the famous racing boat designer and builder, the late Fred Wickens, who made all of the upgrades in the early 1990's. The 450 horsepower racing V8, Art Carr 700R4 overdrive 4 speed automatic transmission custom ENKIE wheels, Goodrich tires, MOMO custom Mahogany steering wheel, AM/FM/Cassette/ TV, with original air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, power windows, black leather interior, flawless black vinyl top, and everything works. This was Fred's baby, and he repowered it with the racing engine, added black sheepskin seat covers, repainted it the original silver, adding silver leaf and other elegant detailing as found on some of his racing boats. Only negative is aging window and door seals. Some new rubber seals are included (in trunk). Only 6100 XJ coupes were ever built (74-77), about half have left steering, and maybe 150 are in the USA. Some were outfitted with Chevy running gear, so this one used the bolt-on kit for the 350 Corvette engine - no frame modifications. Original mileage is 71,000 on the car and the new engine/ transmission have only 9300 miles since installed. No damage history or any evidence of body work. 2006 is Fred Wickens' 100th birthyear. He was one of the world's first hot-rodders, and this is his last and most elegantly brutal automobile.
