"Baldwin Chevrolet RPO LS6 Drop-Top 1970 Chevelle" RPO (Regular Production Option) LS6 meant pure performance at Chevrolet dealerships back in 1970. Baldwin Chevrolet (Baldwin, NY) was one such dealership that catered to the high-performance muscle car crowd and that's where this limited-production vehicle was originally purchased. A historical car from a historical dealership! With 450-horsepower, the 454-cid "LS6" engine was one of the most powerful production powerplants ever offered. This black-on-black car is unique as it features matching (and correct date-coded) block, heads, intake, carburetor, starter, alternator, distributor, and differential (4.10 ratio). A collectible car that is original and fully documented via factory build sheet. This fully restored (full body-off in 2004), highly optioned machine recently underwent a (Dec 2006) partial restoration by highly acclaimed LS-6 guru Ward Gappa (Quality Muscle Car Restorations, LLC, Scottsdale, AZ), upgraded to meet his impeccable, world-renowned standards. Ray Allen's famous SS / EA racer ran low 11-second times with ease, and this is as close as an example to that legendary car that can be found, plus it's a correct restoration in every sense. This was Chevy's biggest horsepower motor with a drop top very few documented LS-6 converts exist. This car is known as the highest optioned rarest color combo, black with white skunk stripes. Coming out in multiple magazines.
