Beverly Hillbillies Haywagon Jalopy Truck
125,000
LotNumber 959.1
Folks, here is a rare opportunity to own a piece of the Beverly Hillbillies history. This vehicle was built, signed and purchased from none other than George Barris of Barris Kustom Industries. Barris Kustom Industries has been in business since 1944 and are well-known for their movie vehicles such as the "General Lee," the "Munster Mobile" and the "Batmobile." Documented by Mr. Barris as 1 of 5 vehicles built and was filmed in the TV series as well as the Beverly Hillbilly movie. It is world famous for its unprecedented 12-year run on the original TV series with such stars as Buddy Ebson, Irene Ryan, Max Baer Jr, Donna Douglas and Nancy Kulp. This was constructed using a 1922 Oldsmobile base and a vintage truck chassis. The truck runs and drives. It has been used as a parade vehicle for the past few years and certainly draws attention. The original Certificate of Authenticity signed by George Barris lists this vehicle as a "stunt and exhibition vehicle" and will be given to the buyer of this car. There is also a storyboard information sheet from Barris Kustom Industries that is also signed by Mr. Barris and shows how the vehicle was constructed along with a picture of Mr. Barris signing the vehicle. The mannequins were a recent addition and will go with the car as well. Also included in this sale will be the neon sign you see behind the hillbilly truck. The sign says "George Barris presents" and was used as the grand entrance to the museum where Barris Kustom cars were exhibited. This amazing, impressive Hillbilly Truck known as the "Jalopy" has been used at the Autorama, World of Wheels and Rod and Custom Car Shows. This truck was also used by the current owner to transport the Grand Marshall Ken Squier of CBS Motorsports. This is a true piece of Hollywood history and would complete anyone's collection.
