The Premier cars were built in Indianapolis from 1903 to 1925 and began as a conventional automobile made on modern lines with a pressed steel frame. By 1920, the touring Premier was most notable for its use of an electric transmission system and a 4.8 liter engine with an aluminum block, crankcase and pistons. The special racing Premiers of 1916 had a twin overhead cam, 4 cylinder, 16 valve engine, and two competed in the 1916 Indianapolis 500 race.
