The Fairlane 500 was Ford's original performance midsize. The Carroll Shelby praised 289 Challenger V-8 together with a velvet smooth cruise-o-matic transmission delivers a lively response with comfort, economy and quality that endures. This car performs well on regular gasoline. The body and interior are restored using PPG products to it's original Wimbledon White with Dark Red interior. The dash has original instruments and radio with rear speaker. The drive train is original in very good condition. The new exhaust trumpets the distinctive tone of the 289 cubic inch V-8 that, in 1965 Carroll Shelby called "the finest ever to come out of Detroit". Recent work includes: new brakes, shocks, tires, timing chain, water pump, alternator, starter, battery, halogen headlights, idler arm set, filters and fluids. This car is ultra original down to the wheels and hubcaps. Included is a set of Ford chrome wheels with new Indy 500 tires that quickly change it to a 60's high performance look. The winning bidder will enjoy many hours of pleasant driving with this car.
