AUCTION RESULTS: Lot 188 - Not Sold at a high bid of $250,000

60 bhp, 415 cu. in. L-head six-cylinder engine, rear-mounted three-speed transmission, solid front axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, two-wheel mechanical brakes. Wheelbase: 134"

This Packard Model 38 Touring car comes from a well-known Midwestern collection. Restored some ten years ago, it has been well looked after, having previously been in a museum collection and rarely driven. Nicely detailed, its dark Packard Blue body and black fenders show no chips and exhibit a deep shine. The body moldings are in contrasting black and are accented with straw striping. The black canvas top is as new.

The seats are upholstered in dark crimson, button-tufted leather and are in excellent condition. The brightwork is unblemished and shines superbly. The tires, wide whitewalls fitted to white artillery wheels, are like new and are complemented by dual rear-mounted spares with fabric wheel covers. Lovely brass accents include running lights on the firewall and a brass horn on the driver's side as well as a Warner speedometer and clock.

This is a superb example all around and will be an attractive addition to any collection and a delightful touring entry to boot.
