Description: 1908 Lozier Type 1 7-Passenger Touring
This Lozier Type 1 Touring car sold new for $6,200. Upgrades in 1908 included adding a six-cylinder motor and implementiong sliding rods in the gear case which greatly reduced oil dripping. Adding shaft drive and the extensive use of ball bearings were also 1908 updates. The six-cylinder engine has splash and force-feed lubrication, an enclosed valve train, dual ignition, a large crankshaft and large cylinder jugs that are finished in baked enamel. This car has four-speed selective gearbox, two-wheel mechanical drum brakes with transmission brake, and a T-head six-cylinder engine with a single updraft carburetor rated at 51 horsepower. This is the only known six-cylinder 1908 Lozier in existence today.
