1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spyder

1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spyder

Chassis: AR378010
1570 cc dual overhead cam inline four-cylinder engine rated at 92 horsepower, four-speed manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes; wheelbase: 88.0"

Stylist Giorgio Guigiaro, probably one of the world's foremost designers, was under contract in the early 1960s with Bertone and given the task to create the successor for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta series, to which he met that goal. This sharp spyder was one of the first acquisitions of the Old Car Heaven Museum family and has remained a favorite, often being personally driven by the owner. Finished in Italian Racing Red, it was treated to a full professional restoration, both cosmetic and mechanical, several years ago and always pampered since. The leather covered bucket seats show only minimal use while the rest of the car would only need a quick detailing to be ready for the Concours circuit. For $3,395, which was about the price of a well-appointed full-size American convertible, you could have a car that had character; performance, and an aura that let the driver know traditions of excellence can be experienced, both in the driveway and on the road. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a car that not only has great appeal to its future value, but plenty of appeal on the open road.
