The successor to the Alfa Romeo 1900 was the 2000. The engine was bored out to 1975 cc and produced 108 hp at 5,800 rpm. This power was achieved by increasing the compression ratio and installing twin carburetors. The 2000 featured a 5-speed transmission with column-mounted shift so that the broad front bench seat had room for three persons.
In 1962 the 2000 was given a new 6-cylinder engine to create the 2600, which had the same body as the 2000. The 2600 had a top speed of 109 mph compared to the 2000 topping out at 100 mph.
