Built for and shown at the New York Auto Show. Professionally restored to original specs. Since completion it has been raced Internationally and won numerous awards. Description Sydney Allard produced over 2,000 vehicles in the period 1945-1955 in his UK factory which were sold worldwide. His J2 and J2X sports cars dominated US sports racing in the US in the 1950s being the first manufacturer to use the new overhead valve V8 engines from many manufacturers in relatively light bodies. This particular car, chassis number 91K3019, left the factory in March, 1952 and was exported to the New York Allard agents, Perry Motors. This car was specially built version for the New York Auto show- I have the original factory build sheet for the car and written verification from the UK Allard Owners Club that this was the show car. The car was built with a number of options specially for the show which included: two spare tires, Borrani wire wheels, Alfin alloy brake drums front and rear, A De Dion rear suspension. A full restoration to concours and original condition was completed in 1993 in the UK by Ron Jenkins and his team at RaceSport International and a number of specialists. During the restoration, modern safety equipment to current FIA Historic regulations was installed including a plumbed-in fire system, kill switch, a rear rain light, a roll bar, and safety belts. The original Cadillac engine was replaced in 1957 with a 1957 full race Chrysler 392 cubic inch Hemi V8, which is in the car today. The car has been raced in the US and in Europe including the Goodwood Revival Meeting.
