Engine No: RC482E Chassis No: RC44 Vandenplas fabric body, cycle fenders, louvered hood and stone guards. This is one of the six 4.5 liter W.O. Bentley RC Series cars built by Knobby Clarke, the former manager of Bentley. The cars were built in 1936 after the Rolls Royce/Bentley merger. Clarke personally assembled the cars. The RC Series had the ultimate specs of the 4.5 liter models, as developed during 1925 to 1931. Heavier non-twisting frames, 6.5 liter differentials, high numerical ratio steering boxes, wrap around (double shoe) brakes, finned drums and flame arresting carburetors. The Bentley Drivers Club recognizes these cars as authentic vintage Bentleys since all the parts were designed and manufactured befor 1930. Its registration number in the Benrley Register is EMF 115. Bentley's first chassis to compete with the larger horsepower premium cars of the day. This beautiful Big Six Bentley, chassis #BX2419, lanquished and laid dismantled in England for over 60 years. The current owner commissioned vintage Bentley expert David Ayre to begin the painstaking two-year restoration which was completed in late 2006. With speeds in excess of 80 mph, this vintage Bentley is capable of long distance motoring in style and comfort. The car has been driven thousands of miles in the United States and abroad and is making its inaugural Concours debut at the 2010 Amelia Island Concours. by Douglas
