BMW debuted the Model 507 roadster at the Frankfort Motor Show in 1955. The 507's all-alloy 3.2 Liter V-8 offered a unique blend of power and torque - not quite as powerful as the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, but much more driver-friendly. The car was designed by Count Albrecht Graf von Goertz and the chassis consisted of tubular and box section elements.
The simple but stylish two-seater was available as an open roadster or with an optional removable hardtop. The first BMW 507s were delivered in November, 1956. The 507 can accelerate form 0 to 60 mph in 11 seconds and has a top speed of 135 mph. Total production was only 253 units.
