1937 Buick Roadmaster Convertible Sedan
$63,250
Chassis: 3063784
320 cid overhead valve in-line eight-cylinder engine rated at 130 horsepower, three-speed manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 138"
Among many of Buick's innovations was their famous "valve-in-head" engine design. When this technology was applied to a straight-eight, it placed this heralded marque ahead of all of the competition. For 1937, new streamlined intake valves and an improved oiling system made these engines a bit more silent than before and provided a 10 HP boost in the output. This season, the Series 80 Roadmaster offered the very exclusive four door convertible-sedan presenting a handsome ride. This example, finished in light tan with saddle brown leather seats and a black top, is fitted with built-in trunk, Trippe driving lights, enclosed dual-side mounts spare tires, spotlight and wide whitewall tires. It was treated to a complete professional restoration several years back and has been used sparingly. It is reportedly in very good driving condition. With just 1,040 copies of this car produced these were the vehicles that only those who enjoyed driving in open-air comfort would want to own. Featuring a beautiful restoration it is ready to appear front and center in a local parade or to hit the judging field where it is sure to score quite well. Luxury from Buick; an American tradition.
