1959 Cadillac

Harley Earl, design chief at General Motors from 1927 to 1958, loved big, powerful cars. None more typified his idea of powerful opulence than the Cadillac Edlorado, first appearing as a concept car in the 1951 Motorama. Debuting as a production car in 1953, by 1955 the Eldorado sported its characteristic "shark fins" and long, low appearance. The 1959 Eldorado boasted tailfins that soared to new heights of flamboyance.
