Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

Long recognized as the "Standard of the World," Cadillac surpassed Packard after World War II, thanks to the styling of Harley Earl, the overhead-valve V8 engine and sheer luxury. In 1953, the Series 62-based Eldorado Convertible was introduced and quickly gained lasting fame for carrying the newly elected President, Dwight D. Eisenhower, to his inauguration.

In 1956, the Eldorado sub-series expanded to include the Seville two-door hardtop and a convertible named the Biarritz. Bold new frontal styling, as well as a longer hood and front fenders, distinguished the 1958 Eldorado from its predecessors, and then, as now, the Biarritz Convertible remained Cadillac's undisputed image leader.
