The 1956 Corvette featured a beautiful new design that many consider to be one of the all-time great classic car looks. About the only things carried over from the original Corvette were the grille and dash.
New design elements included:

- Chrome-outlined Concave Side Body Coves
- Sloping Talilight-intergrated Rear Fenders
The 265 cid V-8 engine now produced 15 more horsepower which continued to improve performance. Two additional engines were available offering 225 hp and 240 hp.
