1979 Corvette History
The 1979 Corvette was basically a carry-over of the new design introduced in 1978. The most noticeable change was the addition of a wrap-around rear window which also created a fastback-like styling. On thing to notice is that the early model-year cars came with a 140 mph speedometer while the later cars had the new 85 mph speedometers.
In 1979, the Corvette came only in the coupe body.
