1981 Corvette History
By 1988, Chevrolet had manufactured approximately 900,000 Corvettes over the 35 years since the car's debut. To commemorate the event, Chevrolet offered Corvette enthusiasts a special 35th Anniversary Edition model.
For an extra $4,795, buyers could select the Z01 35th Anniversary Special edition package for the coupe. This special package included a two-tone paint scheme featuring a white body color, painted white wheels, and black roof bow with transparent black roof panels. Special badges and a white interior with 35th Anniversary badges embroidered on the seat backs rounded out the treatment.
All 35th Anniversary cars were identified by a specific build sequence number. A total of 2,050 35th Anniversary Edition cars were built.
