When introduced in 1947, the "Advanced Design" pickups from Chevrolet presented not only rugged dependable trucks, but some of the best looking commercial vehicles ever produced. Throughout its eight-year run, improvements were constantly being made, often very subtle such as redesigned trim, door handles, and increases in the size and power of the engines. For 1954, a number of visible changes were made making these very popular with collectors today. Included was a new grille combined with a one-piece curved windshield plus a new dashboard and instrument panel featuring a redesigned "dispatch box" and pull-out ash-tray.

This truck is powered by its original "stove-bolt" six-cylinder engine, backed up by a column-shift three-speed manual transmission. Even more appealing is the large assortment of factory accessories such as the original AM radio, heater-defroster, and a very rare dash-mounted clock located between the two instrument clusters directly in front of the driver's position. It is also fitted with the extra cost chrome grille as well as front and hard-to-find rear bumper. Given a full restoration a few years ago, this truck has been used very sparingly and looks to be ready to hit the road or the show field.
