For 1957, extra richness characterized the Bel Air in all regards. Side trim was arranged as on the "Two-Ten" models except the area between the molding branches was filled with a silver anodized aluminum beauty panel and three small gold-colored chevrons marked the forward side of each fender. Also done in gold were the grille inset, V-8 emblems and strips in the Bel Air beauty panel. Rocker sills, roof and window outlines, and the entire edge of the fins were all trimmed with bright metal moldings. Distinctive two-tone interiors also decorated the new Bel Airs.
Spurred by the new styling, 1957 was a banner year at Chevrolet with the company outselling Ford by 136 units for the calendar year.
