Auction: Russo and Steele

The 1963 split window corvette offered here is far from ordinary. The header exhaust system and mufflers have been hi-heat-coated silver, and the remaining detail is either chrome or high polished aluminum.
A new LS7 454 was used and built with special attention paid to longevity. ARP fasteners were used throughout to ensure stability under even the most extreme conditions. TWR 8.5:1 forged pistons with speed pro rings and polished rod beam rods that spin on Celvite H-series rod and main bearings were used for the reworked steel crank. The block was true-decked, align honed, clearanced, and balanced. The heads were ported, blended and polished and fitted with manly extreme duty 2.190 intake and 1.900 exhaust valves. Competition cams, springs, Hi-Tec pushrods and pro magnum series rocker arms complete the valve rain. It is also equipped with comps hydraulic roller camshaft with 232/237 duration at 0.050 and a total lift of 0.547 on both fronts. For intake there is a bds-671 blower fed by its advanced electronic fuel-injection.
Special attention to detail was used with the wiring of electronics, lighting, steering and elaborate braking system.
The rear of the frame has been "kicked-up" and inward to clear the very large l9.5x33x15 tires. The fab-9 pro street rear end is supported by the six-point roll cage.
The superb fit and finish of the car on the outside, inside, under the car and through out the motor is something that has to be seen to be truly appreciated. The body was installed and removed more than 50 times to ensure a "perfect" fit.
