$24,750

195.5 cid L-head inline six-cylinder engine rated at 62 horsepower, three-speed manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 109.0"

The lightest and quickest model in the 1930 Series 66 line-up was the roadster, with 1,616 examples produced and attractively priced at just $835. Helping to secure a smoother more stable ride was the use of newly developed hydraulic shock absorbers on all four corners, plus Lockheed internal expanding brakes. All roadsters were equipped with rumble seats so that extra passengers could be brought along.

The example offered from the Old Car Heaven Collection was treated to a cosmetic restoration a number of years back and is stated to be in very good running condition. Fitted with accessory side mount spares, it is finished in an attractive light blue scheme with black accents and fenders while riding on ivory painted wire wheels. While the 1930 models were reported to have three-spoke steering wheels, this example has a four-spoke edition, and from paper work found with the car, appears to indicate this may have been built close to the start of model-year production. While the economy in America might have been on a downswing when this car was new, there would be nothing depressing about owning this delightful roadster today.
