$30,800

260 cid L-head in-line eight-cylinder engine rated at 88 horsepower, three-speed manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 135.0"

For 1931, Chrysler made the bold move of introducing a whole new family of straight-eight engines with the Series CD as the entry-level models. Improving on an already industry leading advancement in Spring of that same year, these lowest priced models received a boost in displacement by 20 cubic inches. This brought along an 18 horsepower boost as well. Not only did these new Chryslers run at the head of the pack, but they sported all new and very attractive styling thanks in part to a new chassis design that allowed for lower profiles and more passenger or cargo space.

This unique example offered from the Old Car Heaven Museum appears to be a solid example with the running gear intact. Repainted a number of years ago, at our inspection the front seat cushions were missing. The top is apparently an older replacement but many of the hard-to-find items are included such as the dual side-mount spares, twin trumpet horns, and the gazelle radiator mascot. With a near complete starting point, one can only imagine the finished project that this car so richly deserves.
