Well styled, richly appointed, and powered by the famous Hemi V8 engine, the 1956 Windsor line was Chrysler's best seller with the four-door sedan at the top of the sales list. A host of accessories were available to suit each new owner with the most expensive on the list, and in some parts of the country, most welcomed, being factory climate control. This beautiful black sedan, accented in vibrant red, is equipped with this system, "Air-Temp" air-conditioning, something that less than 1% of car buyers opted for that year. Only the compressor and condenser were mounted under the car's hood; the rest of the system was mounted in the trunk, accounting for the fresh-air ducts mounted behind the C-pillars. Other accessories include power steering, Town & Country radio, and a dash-mounted clock. Repainted several years ago, the interior appears to be in excellent condition with original fabrics, though there are a few areas of light wear. Reported to be in very good running condition, it is believed that the 96,100 miles showing on the odometer are from new and that the drive train is original to this car.
