During the 1950s, all of America's luxury cars lacked in not having a station wagon, it was after all, just a glorified commercial vehicle. Then, a few years back, someone decided it was time for a wagon from Chrysler's premier marque: the Imperial. First, a very solid and complete New Yorker wagon was located, one of the most expensive of its day, after which the transformation began. All of the Imperial front sheet metal was attached to the wagon's body, with other appointments and trim items transferred over. Body work was completed and painted a rich black with simulated wood-graining placed around the side window openings, the height of fashion in 1956. Most of the exterior of this has been completed, while the interior waits for the new owner to trim it out to their own custom selections. Whether it be rich broadcloths, durable leather or maybe even a custom cow-hide selection, the possibilities are endless. Powered by the original Hemi V8 engine and the Torque-Flite automatic, when completed this wagon will draw attention and admiration like few others could, and you can rest assured you'll have the only one in the show.
