1957 Chrysler 300C Two-Door Hardtop
$37,400
394 cid Hemi V8 engine fitted with dual four-barrel carburetors and cross-ram induction rated at 390 horsepower, three-speed push-button Torque-Flite transmission, four-wheel power assisted hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 126.0"
It is hard to believe that even though produced in limited numbers, there were groups trying to limit the amount of horsepower the average driver could own some 50 years ago, but it is true. However, Chrysler was having nothing of that nonsense and continued to see how much power it could squeeze from that mighty Hemi V8. For 1957, the third incarnation of Chrysler's letter cars had more than ever, especially when equipped with the dual carburetor set-up, as is the sharp hardtop version being offered.
One of just 1,918 produced, this example is finished in its original hue of black, one of the limited colors available for these models and also one of the rarest. Set off by its beautiful tan interior, this 300C was treated to a full restoration a few years back, having started with a very solid car. Showing under 300 miles since that work was completed, it is fitted with radio, heater, power steering, brakes, and even a windshield washer. This outstanding example needs only a minor amount of cosmetics to bring it up to the top show standards that it was meant to be.
