Billed as "America's most carefully built car," Imperial for 1962 was pulling out all the stops when it came to making a luxurious automobile. Priced at $5,770, production of these cars rose slightly over the previous season to a total of 554 copies being produced; still a rather limited number. Each car's interior was finished in hand cut, sewn, and fitted top-grain leathers, while the list of extras on other cars were standard on the Crown convertible. In addition to the basic power equipment including seats, windows and top controls, this beautiful example is also fitted with air-conditioning and much more. Finished in Vermillion Red, which is accented with Alabaster leather interior, the odometer shows right at 73,600 miles. The observed mileage reflects the overall condition. Our inspection showed it to be quite solid and very complete and could benefit from a deep detailing.
