If you find a strong resemblance between this 1966 Imperial Crown convertible and Lincoln Continentals of the era, you would be right as the same man was behind both designs. Elwood Engel believed that luxury automobiles did not have to be trimmed with useless chrome and gaudy ornamentation, instead, present clean, elegant lines with quality in the construction and materials. That ideal is represented in this convertible, one of the last of the breed. With a base price of $6,146, just 514 of these top-line convertibles were produced. This example appears to have been well maintained. Finished in white with complementing black leather interior, there is evidence of minor cosmetic work. As should be expected, all the power amenities are included, and this convertible is reported to be in good running condition, though a complete inspection and tune-up would be recommended.
