For 1941, the Desoto received an extensive face-lift now featuring "rocket bodies" for all passenger cars. Up front the trademark "waterfall" grille was now comprised of 28 vertical chrome bars, divided into two groups through a center color bar. Among the long list of standard features were safety-rim wheels, Simplimatic Fluid Drive transmission, "Hold-Open" doors and much more. As one of the best selling medium priced cars on the market, Desoto had gained a loyal customer base and their repeat business was the envy of many competitors. This sedan has had only two owners from new and with the exception of one older repaint in its original burgundy, is an unaltered and authentic car with factory clock and heater. It is reported to be in very good mechanical condition; ready to hit the road. Original examples such as this are an extremely rare find and with its unique Art-Deco inspired styling, highly sought after. With the care and steps of preservation applied to this Desoto, it deserves to go to a good home that will continue to care for this wonderful piece of automotive history.
