During the 1930s and 1940s, one of the most recognized automotive styling trademarks had been the Desoto grilles, always an impressive array of chrome often referred to as a "waterfall." With the totally new styling seen in the 1949 models, it was decided that only a few minor details needed to be altered for the 1950 editions, which retained that bright and bold front end styling. This is one of an estimated 2,900 convertibles built by Desoto for the model year and presents as an original unrestored car finished in Cadet Gray. We have been told it is a decent driver, which could benefit from a full wake-up and while it would be fun to go to a local weeknight summer cruise-in, it might not be quite ready for any serious competition at a car show. It is appointed with factory heater-defroster, electric clock, proper radio, and best of all, it is a complete car that needs little more than care and dedication to bring this rare convertible back to the spender it enjoyed in those early post-war years.
