Desoto was still a very important part of the Chrysler Corporation's family in 1956, and was a major competitor in the upper-medium priced segment of the market. With a base price of $3,454, the Fireflite convertible was among the most expensive models offered. This stunning example is one of the crown-jewels from the Old Car Heaven collection, finished in its original color scheme of Shell Pink and white, everything on this car is special. Among the accessories are the basic survival items such as the AM push-button radio and heater defroster, as well as the push-button transmission controls, new this year. It is also fitted with power steering, brakes and top, plus an original dash-mounted clock and the fabulous chrome wire wheels at each corner.
