Built to last, Dodge cars had gained a favorable reputation with the car-buying public, and for 1926, there were a number of improvements to be seen. One of the most important was the adoption of the industry's standard "H" shifting pattern for the transmission. Also this year, the use of triple hinges for all doors was instituted to help keep all body types solid and rigid over the rough roads that were still prevalent in America during this era. It was to be the best year ever for Dodge with over 265,000 cars produced during the model year.
