1929 Dodge

1929 marked the first full year of Chrysler Corporation ownership of Dodge Brothers. One consequence was the elevation of the Senior models to a level of luxury not seen in any previous Dodge models. With styling and interior appointments upgraded considerably from 1928, the Senior series compared favorably to similar models offered by Buick, Hudson, and Marmon.

An important engineering feature of the 1929 Dodges was the industry's first downdraft carburetion system to enter mass production. With graviry helping produce a better air/fuel mix, the results were higher horsepower and easier starting. The rest of the American automobile industry adapted downdraft carburetion over the following six years.
