During the early post-war years, it was a sellers' market as America was trying to satisfy its pent-up hunger for new cars. With the buyers waiting in line to get whatever car they could, fancy or up-graded models like convertibles were low on the priority list when production schedules were being drawn up. Dodge offered two basic series of cars with the Custom convertible being the most expensive model in the line-up.
