218 cid L-head in-line six-cylinder engine rated at 95 horsepower, four-speed manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 116.0"
The first redesigned post-war model to come from the Chrysler Corporation wasn't a car, but was the entire truck line for Dodge. One of the most useful as well as being having a modern look, was the panel-delivery. Powered by the venerable in-line six, these roomy half-tonners featured ample space for setting up shop, carrying parcels, shelves for parts or a myriad of other duties. This example was been given a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration several years back. Up front, modern hi-back bucket seats cradle the driver and one passenger while the rear compartment has been fitted with sound absorbing carpeting on the floor, walls and even the ceiling, with bench seats flanking both sides. This truck is also fitted with an original Motorola radio specifically designed to be mounted in the dash, plus vintage after-market turn signals. While the main purpose for the design of these panels was to haul cargo or work as a mobile shop, the sides were perfect for advertising a company name or service, a function that a new owner could easily employ today while enjoying the benefits of owning a great looking Dodge.
