For the American car industry, 1955 was to be a used for many years to come as a high-water mark as sales reached all-time highs. All three of the US major car makers brought out new styling this year and the Chrysler Corporation's Dodge Division was at the top of the list for smart new looking designs. Considered a part of the Coronet series was the Suburban station wagon, the most popular such model in the Dodge line-up this year. With a base price of $2,324, when equipped with the in-line six, a total of 8,115 were produced. This wagon is presented, as it was found, ready for the restorer's or customizer's touch. Finished in its original Heather Rose and Sapphire White color combination, which is reflected with the color-keyed interior soft-trim, when new this must have been the envy of the entire neighborhood. This Suburban is also equipped with the unique shift lever coming through the dashboard, used only during the 1955 season on all Chrysler products with automatics. This car is complete and would make an excellent basis for a perfect stock restoration, cool custom or a resto-mod.
