No other truck in the history of Dodge has as much allure and presence as does the Sweptside edition produced between 1957 and 1959. Aimed at the same market as the Chevrolet Cameo, Dodge started with the standard 1/2-ton long-bed pickup, and added to the rear the back quarter panels from their two-door station wagons. This created a look that took commercial vehicle styling to a whole new level. With a base price of $2,124, this was nearly $400 more than the base pickup that year; production was limited. While the rear-end treatment was outstanding, the front styling was also new featuring four headlights and a full-width grille. This example is fitted with the front and rear chrome bumpers, hard-to-find full wheel covers, heater-defroster, AM radio, and on the left, a spotlight. Showing just over 21,800 miles it is well preserved, but there are a number of minor cosmetic blemishes and light surface rust noted in the pickup bed, but no rust-out, presenting solid floors, doors and more.
