1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix Two-Door Hardtop - Over 10,000 Classic, Collector and Current Cars and Trucks at RemarkableCars.com.
1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix Two-Door Hardtop
318 cid overhead valve V8 engine rated at 260 horsepower, Torque-Flite three-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 118.0"
From the start, Dodge had always been just a cut above the entry level vehicles, usually reserved for the likes of Ford, Chevrolet and Plymouth; however, in 1960, a new smaller series was created for Dodge: the Dart. Comprised of the economical Seneca, medium priced Pioneer and the high-end Phoenix sub-series, it was just above the low-priced three. This hardtop was a part of that top-dollar group and is basically an original car that is ready for a new owner with vision and TLC. Finished in its original Azure Blue color, it is powered by the four-barrel version of the 318 "Poly" head V8. This car was started up for us and appeared to run out quite well. Showing just under 64,000 miles, the engine looks to have had some top-end work done not too long back. There are a few minor spots of rust, but generally it is a solid car equipped with power steering, heater-defroster, a period after-market radio, and an interesting dash-mounted fan (possibly economy air-conditioning).
