In the early 1960s, compact based vans were a hit. Ford had Econoline, Chevrolet the Corvair-based Greenbriar, and based on the Dodge Dart, there was the A100 series. No one seemed to have as much fun with their compact pickups as did Dodge; this pseudo-wrecker is an example of how to have a good time. The boom in the back was added to give the impression this little guy was a big hauler and while it looks solid, it is just for show. A pair of rotating amber warning lights was added for effect while the interior was customized with comfortable high-back bucket seats and plush carpeting. Powered by the trusty slant-six concealed under the engine cover the automatic transmission is shifted through a lever on the dash-board, ala 1955 Dodge passenger cars. The body, paint, glass, and chrome all appear in good condition, but a deep detailing, especially in the cab and bed of this truck, would be very beneficial. Ready to hit the road and create a sensation wherever it goes, this little A100 will be the hit of the show.
