1923 Essex Dirt Track Race Car photo by Remarkable Cars taken at the National Automobile Museum, in Reno, Nevada.
Dr John D. DeHaan found this Essex in a junkyard in Illinois in 1969. Over an eight-year period, he restored the car as a 1924 era dirt track racer. The car was shortened to a 96 inch wheelbas and the engine was moved back a few inches. It features outrigger rear suspension and Essez components.
The car participated in vintage races at the Monterey Historics and at the Sears Point Infineon Raceway.
