1991 Ferrari 348 TS

1991 Ferrari 348 TS
55,620.00 USD
Offered For Sale at the: Russo and Steele Collector Car Auction 2002, Scottsdale, AZ Russo and Steele 5230 S. 39th Street Phoenix, AZ. 85040 Phone: 602.252.2697 Website: www.russoandsteele.com Consignment # 1282 1991 Ferrari 348 TS Final Bid: $ 55,620.00 - Scottsdale 2002 The instantly successful successor to the first mass appeal 308 and 328 series Ferrari was the 348. Vastly improved over the previous model, the new 348 enjoyed the Pininfarina signature "side rib" vents and razor sharp performance to match needs of the most demanding sports car enthusiast. The TS benefits from the best of both design worlds, retaining the pleasing rear C pillar that swoops gracefully into the rear quarter panel while still offering the sensation of open top excitement. The removable roof panel negates the use of the cumbersome canvas top and does away with the only criticism of the convertible, the folded top position and resulting cover. This particular example shows only 34000 original miles and is stunning in the desirable color combination of Black on Black.

1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione

1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione
82,500.00 USD
1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione RM Auctions Automobiles of Amelia Island Collector Car Auction Amelia Island, Florida March 13, 2009 AUCTION RESULTS: Lot 150 - Sold at a price of $82,500 Est. 360 hp, 3,405 cc V8 engine, five-speed manual transaxle, four-wheel fully adjustable independent suspension with coil springs and Koni shocks, four-wheel vented disc brakes. Wheelbase: 96.5" Between 1993 and 1994, Ferrari answered the demands of its privateer racers by offering them an off-the-shelf 348 in full race guise, thanks to a partnership with Michelotto. This was in no way a dealer-installed option. The Michelotto Competizione cars were each fitted with a tuned version of the stock V8 that produced an impressive 360 horsepower, which required half shafts, borrowed from the F40 supercar. Modifications to the body included a Lexan rear window and lightweight alloy panels for the engine cover and deck lid. Carbon fiber was used extensively on the car with the doors, bumpers and undertray all being made of the still-new ultra light, super strong composite material. Extensive ducting was needed to cool the upgraded 15-inch ventilated Brembo disc brakes nesting within the massive 18-inch Speedline center-locking five-spoke magnesium wheels. The suspension system was specially designed by Michelotto with fully adjustable Koni dampers and revised geometry to reduce dive. To increase rigidity, gussets were installed around the engine bay and chassis. The interior of the Michelotto Competizione was stripped bare, fitted with an FIA roll cage, drilled aluminum pedals, a racing steering wheel and approved race seats. In total, only 11 Michelotto Competizione variants of the 348 were produced. Nine of these were put directly into collections and were never raced. The two that were raced proved to be very successful: one finished 8th in the GTU class at the 1994 Daytona 24 hours and the other clinched the Group 2 title in the 1993 Italian Supercar GT series. Of the 11 built, only four made it to American shores, including the 1994 Ferrari 348 GT Michelotto Competizione S/N 99107 presented here. It was shipped new to Florida's largest factory-authorized Ferrari Dealer, Shelton Sports Cars, December 16, 1994. To accommodate American FIA regulations, it had been special ordered with a fire-extinguisher system and Momo race seats in addition to all the other Michelotto modifications. Prior to its acquisition by the O'Quinn Collection, it had belonged to only two Ferrari enthusiast owners since new and had only seen limited track use. In fact, the odometer shows only 2,685 miles. In 1997, it was present at the Concorso Italiano, Carmel Valley, California. As a fully modified race car, the Ferrari is not street legal, and like any race car, RM Auctions highly advises a thorough inspection before bringing it to the race track.
