Signage: 1930 Ford Town Sedan
In 1930, the Model A was given a substantial facelift by Ford. Larger tires on a 19" wheelbase reduced the sedan's height. Wider fenders, a deeper radiator shell, elimination of the cowl stanchions and the addition of stainless steel contributed to the "A's" fresh new look. Three window shades in the back, side armrests and mohair upholstery added a small touch of "luxury" to the Town Sedan.
This Town Sedan was purchased in Waterloo, Iowa and brought to California where overdrive, a higher compression head and wind wings were added. It appeared in the documentary "Hammett" filmed in San Francisco.
