1931 ford Model A Coupe with Dual Side Mounts: The year 1931 was a milestone year in many ways for the Ford Motor Company. In the summer of that year, Ford produced its twenty-millionth automobile, which was escorted and honored across the nation in an unprecedented publicity campaign. This year also marked the last of the very famous and very dependable Model A Fords and the conventional four-cylinder engine. Although Ford produced the four-cylinder Model B in 1932, it was very short-lived and gave way to the flathead-V engine that became the Ford standard for over twenty years. The Rumble Seat coupe was one of the more popular body styles. It was sporty and still practical. It remained the favorite of many high school and college students through the rest of the 1930's and through the first four years of the 1940's. It represented economical, efficient and very affordable transportation for multitudes of people.
