This is the only known fiberglass body 1936 Ford Phaeton in the world. Produced by Pat Mooney (Automotive Specialties) of Albion, Washington in 1980-1981. One of seven Phaetons produced in his factory. The factory manufactured 64 cars, 57 of which were 1936 Ford Roadsters and seven were 1936 Ford Phaetons. Research has shown that this car is the only remaining of the seven manufactured. The molds and patents were eventually sold to the “Fairlane Co.” of St. Johns, MI who continued to produce and sell Mooney’s design. However, the Phaeton molds were scrapped by Fairlane and never produced. This body is perfection and cannot be distinguished from the original steel bodies reproduced in 1935-1936 by Murray/Briggs for the Ford Motor Co. This car is superior to the original steel body, as this car is reinforced with steel not wood. This car has been through a frame off restoration in 1997-2000. Currently this car has 390 total miles and is the winner of many awards including 2000 Celebrity Award (Hot August Nights).
