1941 Ford 3/4 Ton Model 11D School Bus

1941 Ford 3/4 Ton Model 11D School Bus
20,900.00 USD
Offered For Sale at the: RM Auction - Vintage Motor Cars at Meadow Brook Hall August 6, 2005, Auburn Hills, Michigan RM Auctions One Classic Car Drive Blenheim, Ontario N0P 1A0 Canada Phone: 519-352-4575 Website: www.rmauctions.com 1941 Ford 3/4 Ton Model 11D School Bus LOT: 101 Estimate: $25,000-$35,000 US Chassis No. 6073970 Offered Without Reserve AUCTION RESULTS: Lot was Sold at a price of $20,900 85hp 221 cu. in. L-head V8, four-speed manual transmission, four-wheel leaf springs with coil springs and four-wheel drum brakes. Wheelbase: 122" Ford trucks had their humble beginnings in 1905 with the Model C Delivery Car. It was a 10hp vehicle that featured a delivery top and sold for $1,000. Because of very poor sales the vehicle was discontinued and customers wanting a Ford truck had to have it built outside of normal production for the next seven years. In 1912, on the Model T chassis, the Delivery Car was reintroduced with the sales pitch, “The car that delivers the goods. Tougher than an army mule and cheaper than a team of horses.” In 1928 Ford produced its first panel truck based on the Model A. But it was not until 1938 that Ford started selling trucks in reasonable quantities as they introduced their first one ton pickup, with a 3/4 ton series added in 1939. However, in 1940 Ford struck a chord with their revised lineup of 3/4 ton trucks, considered by many to be the most attractive trucks of all time. The front end was similar to the Lincoln Zephyr that gave the new trucks an attractive streamlined look while remaining effective for their purpose. The panel version of the truck featured tongue and groove hardwood flooring, the spare wheel mounted between the passenger door and the rear fender on the right side of the truck. A rare and wonderful piece of Americana, this 1941 Ford nine passenger school bus was custom built from a 3/4 Ton Panel Truck by Novelty Carriage of Spokane, Washington. It was used in the Seattle area from 1941 until the mid 1960s. One of two known to have been built, this is the only one remaining. The bus received a cosmetic restoration a few years ago and was shown in many local car and truck shows in the State of Washington. The bus runs and drives quite well and would be perfect addition to any museum exhibit or to just own for fun as it would provide room for all.

1941 Ford 2-Door Street Rod

1941 Ford 2-Door Street Rod
40,000.00 USD
Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction Website: www.barrett-jackson.com March, 2008, West Palm Beach, Florida Lot Number 923 Year 1941 Ford 2-Door Street Rod ExteriorColor RED/BLACK Interiorcolor BLACK/RED Cylinders 8 Engine 350 Transmission 3-SPEED AUTOMATIC This vehicle has been extensively enjoyed and professionally fine-tuned and will be missed. Recognized with a trophy or plaque at all 7 shows it entered this past year. The Painless Wiring harness has no crimped splices, every connection has been soldered, and everything is loomed, looking and functioning like a late model harness. Being a professionally built, all metal (steel) car sets this custom apart from others. Shaved hood, trunk and suicide doors, and power door openers, linear power trunk, and staggered custom aluminum alloy wheels give it a killer profile. Fully wet sanded, buffed and hand rubbed paint finish provide the deepest mirror image imagined. Includes remote control suicide door actuator. All chrome and polished aluminum Chevrolet 350 V8 engine and polished aluminum firewall with tall polished valve covers, Hiborne air cleaner, Edelbrock carb, and Wiend intake combo and exhaust headers starts easily (never cranks more than 1 second before fire), runs smooth, and makes more power than most sane people are ever going to use. The Turbo-Hydromatic TH350 transmission shifts smooth and firm, and kicks down at the perfect time. The 10-bolt rear differential provides the perfect balance between incredible low end acceleration and highway power. Functional lakepipes (chrome sidepipes) provide an impressive sound and look. Dakota Digital provided the dash, and installation includes trip odometer and reset buttons cleverly hidden. Billet aluminum control knobs, high-end custom audio system, custom red on black leather on the dash and side panels, and luxurious custom upholstery make this spacious interior more comfortable and stylish than most living rooms. The Vintage Air with polished compressor with electric condenser fan blows super cold and the engine temperature remains stable, even in traffic on a hot day. The power windows work perfectly (smooth and consistent) and the vent windows close with proper alignment. Modern door frame to body weather strip noticeably reduces interior noise and increases A/C effectiveness. The brake system includes power disc brakes, braided stainless steel hoses, dual reservoir master cylinder, proper proportioning, and a hidden vacuum power booster, providing a good firm pedal with excellent response and very effective power brakes. The Lokar shifter and e-brake handle work perfectly- tight with proper detent positions and digital dash indications. The wipers are fully functional, and they have been set up to stroke as original. With fully independent front suspension provided by Heidt's Hot Rod Shop, rack & pinion steering, and tubular custom control arms, the vehicle tracks straight on the road, and feels great on the highway. The tilt column is tight, and fits very comfortably. Ready to drive any where, this car is super reliable with all the bells and whistles working just the way they should.
